Celebrating brain diversity through one powerful story

.The Girl Who Thought In Pictures is a sweet, intelligent book that celebrates diversity of thought and mind – including how thinking differently can lead to the most imaginative and clever ideas.

If you’ve ever felt different, if you’ve ever been low,

If you don’t quite fit in, there’s a name you should know…

TEMPLE GRANDIN’s that name!

And one you won’t quickly forget after reading this touching true-life story!

Temple was born long before anyone knew much about autism. However, at a young age she realised she saw the world differently. Her mind filled with photos and pictures instead of words and numbers like the kids around her.

But instead of feeling embarrassed or angry, Temple used her unique brain to develop a wonderful invention. She created the cattle hugging machine, used by farmers across the globe that allows cows to feel safe and secure. They are able to keep calm, even when they’re feeling afraid.

Combining lyrical language, beautiful illustrations and an inspiring story, this book is perfect for any child who feels different, whether because of autism or any other brain disorder.

Most importantly, it’s a reminder for every reader that we’re all different. This often includes the way our brains work.

Thankfully for the world (and for cute cows everywhere), people like Temple exist. The rest of us can be awed and inspired by their unique way of thinking and seeing the world – including their amazing ideas and inventions!
