There are many wonderful Australian authors and books. Some of our favourite are: Possum Magic by Mem Fox, The Adventure of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie by May Gibbs, Magic Beach by Allison Lester, Our Home, Our Heartbeat by Adam Briggs and The Rainbow Serpent by Dick Roughsey.
Our resource libraries has great Australian books available to loan for Pyjama Angels to read with their children. Local council libraries also have a great range of books for children, tweens, teens and adults, so why not pick up an a book and read for an hour this Thursday?
Australia Reading Hour also happens to occur in NAIDOC Week 2020. We are taking this opportunity to do some reading about First Nations people, culture and the true history of the land we live on. Visit our NAIDOC Week 2020 Blog Post to learn more.
Australia Reads also have great resources on their website.
