Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2020
NAIDOC Week is a great way to celebrate Indigenous history, culture and achievements. With events being held around the country, there will be lots of ways to celebrate – including virtual events. This year’s theme is ‘Always was, always will be’. This theme recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
This week is a great opportunity to teach little ones on Indigenous history and culture. NAIDOC Week has a great list of resources on their website for teachers and the general public. NAIDOC Week organisers have created a document for teachers filled with focus questions and links to websites. Indigenous education is a priority in the Australian Curriculum and utilising these resources is a great starting point for educating children of all ages.
Ensure you check out our Instagram and Facebook social media channels as we will be sharing resources for the duration of this week.
