SAYING THANK YOU THIS NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
..
“It takes a village to raise a child, and we want to thank you for being in our village.”
..
Today marks the first day of National Volunteer Week. This week is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of volunteers to not-for-profit organisations around Australia. This National Volunteer Week, there are so many reasons to say ‘thank you’ and honour those who give their precious time to others.
National Volunteer Week 2020 runs from Monday 18 May – Sunday 24 May 2020 with the theme “Changing Communities. Changing Lives”. This week we celebrate the six million Australians who selflessly volunteer their precious time to benefit their community.
The Pyjama Foundation’s Love of Learning Program would not be successful without the hours sacrificed by each dedicated volunteer. It is because of the hard work of our selfless Pyjama Angels, that children in foster care are given the opportunity to learn and gain confidence. Ultimately, changing the direction of their life path.

Minister Di Farmer MP, reflects on the immeasurable impact each and every Pyjama Angel volunteer has made over the last 15 years.
.
“After all these years, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the most amazing humans. Each one of our Pyjama Angels is making a life-long impact on these children, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be part of it.”
..
Our Pyjama Angels do so much more than simply assist vulnerable children with reading and writing. These amazing individuals provide consistent love and support to vulnerable children and empower them to believe in themselves and their dreams. We would like to acknowledge all their hard work and say thank you for their dedication. It is with their support we are able to continue doing what we do.
You can write a letter using our Letter Writing Template, or use some of our downloadable colouring in templates below to say a huge thank you to your Pyjama Angel or any other special volunteers in your life.
