Eligible containers include aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers between 150ml and 3L.

The easiest way to distinguish is to simply check if the container has a “10c” sign on the packaging.

2. Return the containers in your preferred way

Select the best suited way for you to return the containers such as going to selected locations including reverse vending machines and pop-up spots.  If you are Brisbane-based and donating your refund to The Pyjama Foundation, you can drop your cans and bottles at our Head Office in Albion.

3. Earn a refund and donate

You can get a refund of 10 cents per container to donate to The Pyjama Foundation. You can donate to us using our scheme ID number: C10222932 or simply screenshot this barcode for an easy reference.

Educational Activities for Children

Here are some ideas for getting involved with children: 

1. Pick up containers and bottles at the park or on the beach. Drop them off on your way back to get a refund or donate to The Pyjama Foundation.
2. Create a DIY recycling box for your home and collect containers every time you consume a product with the eligible packaging. Once it fills up, return your containers and get a reward! It is a great way to learn about sustainability.
3. Learn which packaging is recyclable and categorise them with children.
4. Download this fun and educational activity book below and learn more about recycling.  

Every can counts, and the donation will support children in care to build confidence, learn life skills and access consistent support through our Love of Learning Program. We have over 800 children in out-of-home care waiting to be matched with volunteer mentors, Pyjama Angels. With 62% of children in out-of-home care experiencing mental health concerns, this program helps them improve their life outcomes.
