Everyone loves a party, but isn’t it that much sweeter when you’re partying for a good cause?
Friday the 24th of November is Fairy Bread Day and there are so many ways to get involved in the sweetest day of the year.
Dollar Sweets are donating 10c from every 100s and 1000s packet sold this November to The Pyjama Foundation, but you can go the extra mile and host an event!
So, we’re going to give you some ideas for events you can host that will be a bunch of fun, while also supporting The Pyjama Foundation.
Fairy Bread Day Party
A Fairy Bread Day Party will brighten up your school or workplace! You could raise funds by selling fairy bread themed sweets, which could be cupcakes, classic fairy bread, sweet slices covered in sprinkles, or whatever you like, we found some great ideas here. Or alternatively, ask for a donation on entrance to the party. Then donate those funds here and help raise vital money to help support children in care.
Morning Tea
Get your colleagues together to network or invite your favourite people over for a cuppa to support a great cause! Dress to impress and share some delicious fairy bread themed sweets. You can ask for a donation on entry and use this link to donate the funds.
Slumber Party
A sleepover is such an exciting moment in a young person’s life. You can help children in care, while your own kids have a fantastic night by having a Fairy Bread Day sleepover! This could include doing fairy bread inspired makeup, making fairy bread (of course!) and shaking up some fairy bread mocktails. And if traditional fairy bread isn’t really your thing, there are so many creative recipes, find some linked in the paragraph above and more inspiration here! You can encourage a donation for the sleepover, or even set up a play shop, where the kids can pay to get their makeup done or buy the mocktails! The kids will have a blast in the kitchen (and probably make a bit of a mess) following recipes and making their own sweet and colourful treats.
Games Night
Get your friends together for a night of friendly competition to play some old favourites like UNO, Monopoly, Articulate, Twister or whatever other games you like. Ask for a donation to join the fun and share some Fairy Bread themed treats. You could even incorporate some fairy bread themed cocktails to add some extra excitement to the night.
Movie Night
We hope this has inspired you to get involved in Fairy Bread Day! Have some fun with your friends, family or colleagues and help us continue supporting children living in out-of-home care.
